Formed by Musical Director John Gray, bassist and leader on the Calgary Jazz scene who toured with the Ray Charles Orchestra, the ensemble of the city\'s finest musicians recreate the one-of-a-kind sound of Ray Charles and perform such hits as \'Georgia On My Mind\', \'MaryAnne\', \'Hit the Road Jack\' and \'Let the Good Times Roll\', among them. Featuring Grammy Award Winner Donald Ray Johnson on vocals, the group includes a solid rhythm section, a killer horn section and three backup singers known as the \"Donald\" Raylettes. The Ray Charles Tribute Orchestra is quickly becoming well-known to local audiences and is a popular choice for conventions and corporate performances. Their tight sound, danceable rhythms and inimitable repertoire have captured audiences whose tastes run from Jazz to Blues, Soul, R&B and Gospel. Complementing an extensive Ray Charles repertoire, the band entertains audiences with music from several different genres as well. Styles include - Big Band, Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Latin, Motown, R&B, Rock & Roll and Swing.
