| Description: | Visual impairment touches many of us as an estimated 3–5% of adults live with partial sight or blindness. Ski for Light Canada (www.skiforlight.ca) works to ensure that visual impairment is not a barrier to enjoying winter activities. Our annual weeklong cross-country One Skier-One Guide program in the Rockies is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible. Each blind or partially sighted skier is paired with a trained sighted volunteer guide, creating a safe, confidence-building experience on the snow. Taking Action: The Blues Can Fundraiser: Ski for Light Canada invites the community to take meaningful action by joining us at our all-blind musical fundraising event on October 15, 2026, generously hosted at The Blues Can in Calgary. This special evening (5:00–8:00pm) is open to everyone and features live music, a silent auction, and opportunities to support our mission of cross-country skiing beyond disability.
